Today we are introducing Meliore, the newest platform in the Perspicax family — and the first to carry our work beyond the walls of the university.
Perspicax was founded to free the academic mind, and higher education remains our home. But over the past year of working with institutions on curriculum analysis and program design, we kept encountering the same conversation in a different room. A cooperative extension office needed a season of youth programming designed around an experiential learning model. A science center wanted a summer camp curriculum that would hold up to what its educators knew about how children actually learn. A training provider needed a certificate program whose contact hours and credential claims would survive scrutiny. All of them were doing curriculum work. Almost none of them had curriculum tools.
The Learning That Happens Beyond the Semester
Degree programs get committees, outcome maps, assessment plans, and accreditor review. The learning that happens outside them — camps, museum programs, workforce training, extension and outreach, continuing education — is usually designed by improvisation: last year's binder, a borrowed template, a burst of heroic effort by whoever drew the assignment. The people running these programs are talented educators. What they lack is not skill but infrastructure.
